Fancy being a media ambassador?
We work with a lot of newspapers, magazines, TV and radio stations, to raise awareness of bullying and what we can do to beat bullying. They are always looking to talk to young people who have experienced bullying, as this helps them and us get the message across that we can beat bullying.
Some of the young people we work with who have experienced bullying are happy to share their experiences and talk to the media about them. They are brave enough to talk about what happened to them because they know that it can really inspire and help anyone reading/listening/watching, who might be going through the same thing.
As well as making a big difference to others, it helps raise awareness of the need to tackle bullying. Hundreds of young people have wanted to take this opportunity and we’ve made them media ambassadors. We give our media ambassadors the opportunity to talk to a wide audience about bullying, what they’ve experienced and what they’ve done.
They’ve appeared in national newspapers, in 'cool' magazines, on the radio, and on TV programmes such as GMTV, This Morning, BBC Breakfast and Newsround. Media ambassadors simply have a story that needs to be told. Some have been bullied, some were actually bullies but have turned their lives around, while others are just amazing young girls and guys who do fantastic anti-bullying work in their schools and areas.
If you have a story you’d like to share and fancy becoming a media ambassador, let us know. We treat all media ambassadors with the utmost care and confidentiality, but we do need permission from your parent/guardian if you’re under 18. |
